It's calming to see people from different backgorunds and beliefs respecting the holiest month in Islam. The non muslims respect the coming of Ramadhan and wishes us a meaningful Syawal, the not so religious friends try to be better, while the pious ones are there to remind us that much more could be done to improve ourselves.
This Ramadhan, I'm constantly reminding myself that my fasting should not just be from food, but also from things that are more intangible - like temper and impatience. This is the best time to do some anger management, insert some kindness in our daily routine, wear less revealing clothes, give more, and practice good words to others. Remember our ultimate aim is to please God and not people. So make those genuine changes, regardless of its forms and magnitude. And lets pray that one day we will all be able to fully appreciate the month of Ramadhan and move on for the better for the rest of our lives.
Selamat berpuasa! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Ramadhan Ajjie! And yes, update more pls heheeeee. Ahh I miss fasting in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, nothing quite beats the experience of fasting at home. Proper sahur, terawikh at the mosque with family and neighbors, bazaar ramadhan, raya songs etc! :p
