Mac Users are Snobs?

Have you ever noticed the customary rivalry that exists between Mac and PC users? If you have no clue what I’m talking about it’s either you’re too busy studying for UPSR or you’re simply from another planet.

Well, if the latter’s the case – welcome to Earth where rivalry between Mac and PC users exist :)

So, anyway.

While I was at a friend’s house reading Reader’s Digest, I stumbled upon an article by Mindset Media, a research company that undertook a test of 7,500 Mac and PC users and statistically concluded that Mac users are snobs. I was a cracking nut, mercilessly teasing my friend of her huge Mac desktop.

The research concluded that Mac users are more likely to have coffee at Starbucks, and use teeth whitening products, among other things. Mac users also are more likely to boast about their laptop, and put PC users down. They’re most likely to spend heftily and brag about their Mac products.

Interestingly enough, the findings relate well to Mac’s advertisement, which proclaims superiority over PC products. Question is, did the media again and again, succeeded in programming the mind of its viewers, or was the advertisement simply a product of extensive analysis of existing, core Mac users?

“Hello, I’m a Mac. By design, this guy think he is far superior. And if you’re a Mac user, chances are you feel the same way too. Are you self-centered, arrogant or conceited? You must be a Mac!”

Too generalized one would think, but the preface was too catchy to be missed ;) As always surveys bring out a portion of truth, and while truth is undeniable, its portion may not be quite accurate.

Xx.
Your PC user friend (Sorry, I could not resist.)

  1. Buy a Macbook Pro and install Windows XP. Best of both worlds, I say.
